Different names, many applications, one material!

Sintered Expanded Polystyrene is referred to by industry experts as polystyrene, which is the more technically correct term, at the European level it is called EPS (expanded sintered polystyrene) and at the more common level it is known as Polystyrene.

Sintered expanded polystyrene or EPS or Expanded Polystyrene is an innovative, durable, versatile, lightweight, recyclable and safe material.
We can find it in different densities, let's give some examples:

  • Density 10 → it is mainly used for packaging of lightweight products, is characterized by highly visible "balls" and easy to break!
  • Density 20 → material that is widely used in construction, products made with this density are durable and excellent thermal insulators.
  • Density 25 and 25 AE → items made with this density are impact resistant also, with the term AE, indicates self-extinguishing material. Mostly used for architectural decors to be treated and hardened before exposure.
  • Density 30 → this density has the same characteristics as density 20, but increases the strength\binding force between its component beads.
